Yavoriv National Nature Park

Yavoriv National Nature Park

Yavoriv National Nature Park

About the park

This park is a symbolic place from where streams and rivers flow in different directions through Podillya, Polissya and the Carpathians to the Black and Baltic Seas. One of its most interesting parts is the hills of the Main European Watershed, the riches of which are protected by the Yavoriv National Nature Park.

There is a drowsy forest and under its feet a carpet of periwinkle flowers among ancient beeches, as well as pine-beech-oak forests, which can be found only in Roztochia and Crimea. Here, on the ponds, the incredible birds stop to rest on their way to endless migrations. In the park, the descendants of wild tarpan horses are bred.

Nearby, you can see Krekhiv shrines and Stradetska mountain, surrounded by hills of beech and pine forests of Roztochia. Prayer is especially audible  here. There are small villages around, where folk craftsmen will teach you to decorate the world-famous Yavoriv toy with “verbivka”. History is preserved here – there are several museums where you can see the historical finds.
