Periwinkle beech forest in Vereshchytsia

The green-purple carpet is spread in the forests of the village Vereshchytsia in mid-April. At that time of the year, one can observe the incredible beauty of the Periwinkle beech forest flowering. By the way, few people know that periwinkle is a poisonous plant used in pharmacology, and animals do not eat it. It is an evergreen shrub that often forms continuous thickets on dozens of hectares. It is one of the favorite ornamental plants of Ukrainians, widely used in rituals.
